DMB Pedals is co-owned by two long time friends and players. Dan Minton and Michael Blakemore who have been playing guitar for a combined 35+ years. They decided to start building pedals one day to pass some time in between gigs, and the rest is history. DMB Pedals was formed in the summer of 2007.

Michael and Dan love to get creative and work on creating pedals that are practical, yet new in design and usability. They don’t want to create ideas and pedals that have already been made over and over again. DMB Pedals wants to bring something new to the table each time, to hopefully further inspire the creative musical mind.

Michael and Dan are both guitar players with vast differences and experiences of being on the road. They know what it’s like to be on the road and know what its like to be a musician constantly expanding your tonal palette. DMB Pedals strives to keep prices low, even when they have pedals that are loaded with options, they do not believe in breaking the musician bank just to buy a pedal.

Dan started experimenting building some DIY pedals back a few years ago. He had just gotten married and decided he couldn’t afford to buy any pedal so he needed to learn how to make them. Being the mechanically intuitive mind that he is, it immediately made sense to possibly make it a living. Michael came along bringing a marketing and design perspective. DMB Pedals was formed a few months after putting a business plan into practice.

DMB Pedals started off in Michael’s room with one table. It quickly out grew to more tables and quickly out grew the bedroom.

The first pedal that DMB offered was the Stellar Drive. "It was difficult at first to create and build over and over and seemed to take forever, however, once you get the hang of it, it is like clock work. Since DMB has been around for 2 years now, my knowledge has grown so much and I can now build one with my eyes closed," said Michael. "It just takes practice."

The first pedal we built worked as designed it was fantastic, said Michael. "Dan and I were thrilled, and at that point we knew we could do this."

DMB Pedals uses the internet and word of mouth to promote themselves. Dan and Michael do play out at shows and love having people come up after the show and asking why their tone sounded amazing. "It’s truly a great feeling when someone recognizes your tone, and you get to say, well, I made it and we sell them. Check it out."

Bands ask us about our gear all of the time when one of us has a show, it is an awesome feeling.

DMB Pedals has sold pedals all over the world including, Europe, Asia, Australia, Canada, South America, and of course all over the United States. DMB Pedals has bands such as Jars of Clay, David Crowder, Jackson Waters, and New York Summer on their artist list, just to name a few.

We build about 20 pedals every month to keep up with inventory.

The Stellar Drive uses a FET based IC chip technology that gives it some mean crunchy clarity. The Stellar Drive has more gain, grit, and volume out of the box, as well as clean up, and reaction with your guitar , than most of company B’s stock overdrives.

The Cosmic Boost is for the more "dynamic" tone enthusiasts. Don’t let the name fool you, it is much more than a boost pedal. The pedal is based around a super low-noise IC chip and a clipping section. The cosmic boost is sure to give you the extra boost you need as well as a warm bright chime.

The toggle switch lets you choose between a flat EQ response and a treble/mid boost that let your solo’s scream over everything! The Cosmic Boost also makes for an incredibly warm pre amp when run at lower settings, when you need that extra warmth because you cannot turn your amp up!

The Cosmic Boost also makes for a great tight distortion when the gain is past 12 o’clock. The Cosmic boost works best in front of your distortion/overdrive pedals, to give you the standard boost effect.

The Volumizer is a very handy tool to have on your pedal board for bass players, guitar players, keyboard players, and even Violin players alike. There is nothing on the market like it today. The Volumizer is completely passive meaning there is nothing inside that is boosting your signal or coloring your tone.

Think like your volume knobs on your guitar. The Volumizer takes your guitar signal and splits it between two channels and lets you pick the signal level for each channel. 10 is unity, 0 is no sound.

The Lunar Echo is a groundbreaking Analog Delay. It is a vintage bucket brigade true analog delay. A cool function about the Lunar Echo is that its sound emulates an old tube tape delay quite well. It is very warm and creamy. The Lunar Echo is also equipped with a modulation section which lets you put some creamy chorus on your tails and or a more subtle type of tape "warble."

Take Off Switch: This function is very cool. It is a “step and hold” button. When you step down on it, it sends it into self oscillation mode where you can get very cool sweeps and dynamic volume effects.

Lo-fi, Hi-fi switch: This switch changes the tone on your repeat tails between a lo-fi and a hi-fi sound. Pretty self explanatory Tape normal wrecked Switch. This is a 3 position switch. In the middle position, the delay is a delay without any modulation. When you activate tape mode, this engages the modulation circuit that lets you dial in your chorus and warble effects. Wrecked mode is basically the modulation circuit gone crazy, you can get some really crazed effects and noises with wrecked mode.

The union Jack Switcher provides a main signal input and output with a “red” LED that lets you know your are on your regular signal. The Union Jack also has an input and output loop jack and a "white" LED that indicates when you are using the loop in and out.
